This awesome concert tee is from a 1986-1987 tour for the "Godfather of Shock Rock" Alice Cooper. This tour was designed to promote Cooper's ninth studio album, Constrictor, which was his first release after a hiatus that lasted several years. This would also be the first record from Cooper to feature Kane Roberts on guitar and Kip Winger on bass. Notable tracks off of Constrictor included "Teenage Frankenstein" and "He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask", which was written for the latest installment of the Friday the 13th franchise, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives.
This shirt features the same portrait of Cooper used for the cover of Constrictor, of the musician being seemingly strangled by a snake. Since the beginning of his career, Cooper has been known for his elaborate live theatrics, including stunts like fake guillotines and hangings. Since the early 70s, he's also made a habit of performing with snakes on stage. During the 1986-1987 tour, which was dubbed The Nightmare Returns Tour, the snake that accompanied Cooper was named Mistress.
