This awesome vintage concert tee is for Aerosmith and their Back in the Saddle Tour from 1984. This aptly named tour acted as a comeback for the group, and it saw guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford reunite with the band, after several years apart. Fans were a bit tentative, as the band hadn't enjoyed much success since Perry's departure in 1979, and lead singer Steven Tyler was still struggling to get a handle on his alcoholism. However, the tour wound up being a commercial success and it gave the group the momentum to release a new studio album the following year, Done with Mirrors.
This eighth studio album only reached gold status, but the band was undeterred and they continued their uphill climb back to their former glory. In 1986, Tyler successfully completed rehab for his substance abuse, and the band proceeded to release to the back to back smash hit albums, Permanent Vacation and Pump. By the early 90s, the band was back in full swing and they even earned their first ever Grammy Award for the single "Janie's Got a Gun". Aerosmith had solidified themselves as rock and roll superstars and their successful comeback could be traced all the way back to the Back in the Saddle Tour.
