This cool vintage shirt is for an album by New York based folk rock musician David Peel. Bring Back the Beatles was released in 1977 from Orange Records. Peel was actually a friend of Beatles member John Lennon. The two met in 1971 while Peel was playing with a hippie band in Washington Square Park. Lennon agreed to produce Peel's 1972 album The Pope Smokes Dope which is banned in a number of countries. Peel also performed with Lennon and Yoko Ono on the David Frost Show.
Peel is known most famously for performing with the Lower East Side Band. His acoustic sound is accompanied by lyrics regarding marijuana and "bad cops". He also became associated with "transgressive shock" performer GG Allin whose controversial live performances sometimes involved self-mutilation and assaulting audience members.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. This shirt is deadstock, unworn.
