This classic promo tee was made for the iconic Japanese sneaker brand Onitsuka Tiger. The brand is not only legendary in its own right but had close ties with Phil Knight (Nike founder) and would go on to be the makers of the very first Nike shoes.

Onitsuka was founded in Japan in 1949 and became a reputable running shoe endorsed by Olympians no more than a decade in. By 1964, Onitsuka began their partnership with a young and entrepreneurial Phil Knight (pre-Nike). He and Bill Bowerman were the US distributors for Onitsuka Tigers under the name Blue Ribbon Sports.

In 1968, Blue Ribbon Sports became Nike. Bowerman created the Cortez for Onitsuka Tiger- known as The Corsair in the Japanese market and the Nike Cortez in the American market. Today, Onitsuka Tiger shoes are sold as part of the ASICS brand.

Fits like a modern unisex adult small. Double sided print.
