This awesome punk t-shirt reps the iconic Los Angeles- based band the Circle Jerks. A seminal part of the Southern California punk scene, the band was started in the late 70s by Keith Morris, of Black Flag. Initially known as the Bedwetters, the name was changed after drummer Lucky Lehrer expressed his distaste for it. Thus they were renamed the Circle Jerks, and the group released their debut studio album in 1980, titled Group Sex.
The Circle Jerks released four other albums throughout the 80s, including Wild in the Streets and Golden Shower of Hits. The latter featured the notable track "Coup d'Etat", which was included on the soundtrack to the cult sci-fi film, Repo Man. The band also made a cameo appearance in the movie, performing an acoustic version of their song "When the Shit Hits the Fan".
This shirt features a sweet graphic drawn by Shawn Kerri, a female cartoonist who was an active part of the local Los Angeles punk scene. She was responsible for numerous promotional flyers and merchandise graphics for bands like the Germs, T.S.O.L., and Fear, but her most famous creation is possibly the "skank kid" logo that she designed for The Circle Jerks. The image on this tee was made around the same time that the "skank kid" was first conceived, and it was used to advertise a concert at the Whiskey a Go Go.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. There's some spots, and some discoloration under the arms, see pics.
