After seeing Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Madsen fell so deeply in love with the franchise, that he launched not only the club, but a fanzine that later attracted the attention of Roddenberry himself. This led to the zine becoming an officially licensed newsletter from Paramount Pictures, and it's a great example of just how far a passion project can take you.
