This cool tee comes from a unique event held at the Palm Springs Racquet Club in 1983. The shirt was made for a "survivor of the underwater backgammon tournament" that was sponsored by Stanfield Shutter Co. The Palm Springs Racquet Club was founded in 1934, and it was once a go-to party spot for the Hollywood Elite. In the 80s, the club decided to offer members a one-of-kind competition with the underwater backgammon tournament. Participants had to don scuba gear and weights in order to play along the bottom of the club's swimming pool.
