This shirt features the same portrait of Rock that was used for the cover of his 1997 comedy album, Roll with the New. The album featured live material that was also included in his HBO television special Chris Rock: Bring the Pain, and the 1996 special effectively launched the comedian to super stardom. Prior to that he had gained attention as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, but after he was dismissed from the show in 1993, Rock struggled to maintain notoriety.
