This sweet shirt celebrates the third album from the band Danzig, fronted by former Misfits vocalist, Glenn Danzig. The album, titled Danzig III: How the Gods Kill, was released in 1992. The record peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200, and it was the final studio album of what fans considered the "classic era" of the band, before they started experimenting with a more industrial sound.
This shirt features a graphic of a dagger that was used for the album's cover art, which was a modified version of H.R. Giger's painting, "Meister und Margeritha". While the original painting featured an erect phallus, the image was censored for the album by replacing the phallus with the dagger pictured on this tee. A close up of the dagger was also used for the cover of the album's single "Dirty Black Summer".
Danzig's popularity was boosted considerably around this time, which was mostly thanks to the release of their EP Thrall-Demonsweatlive. The EP featured a live recording of their song "Mother", which became a popular rock radio hit. As the song's popularity grew, the band was invited to perform at larger venues, and alongside notable bands like White Zombie, Type O Negative, Black Sabbath, and Metallica.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. There are small holes on the front and back, see pics.
