This awesome shirt celebrates the beloved comic book character Death of the Endless, a personification of death first featured in The Sandman comics. This shirt features a famous promotional image drawn by Chris Bachalo, an artist known for his work on Shade, the Changing Man as well as various X-Men titles. The image was used to advertise Death: The Time of Your Life, a 1996 mini-series that also featured the artwork of Bachalo. The mini-series included other Sandman characters, Donna Foxglove and Hazel McNamara, and it became the first ever recipient of the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book.

Unlike popular western depictions of the grim reaper, Death is portrayed as a surprisingly chipper young goth girl. Her visual design was created by Mike Dringenberg, who based her appearance off his friend Cinamon Hadley. With her bat's nest hairstyle and signature ankh necklace, Death was a seminal icon for many 90s goths. Since her debut, she's appeared in various DC Comics, and she was even ranked by Empire magazine as one of the fifteen greatest comic book characters.
