This cool wraparound tee celebrates Doink the Clown, a unique pro wrestling character created by Matt Borne in the early 90s. Just as his name would suggest, Doink was a circus clown themed character who first appeared ringside in the World Wrestling Federation in 1992. Doink originated as a heel character who was known for his villainous pranks and mean-spirited shenanigans, which subverted the usual playful antics expected from a circus clown.

This shirt was made later in the character's tenure, around the time that he turned face. At the same time that this switch was made, Borne was dismissed from the WWF and Ray Apollo eventually stepped in as Borne's permanent replacement. Apollo's version of Doink was given a miniature sidekick named Dink, and later two more little people joined the pair, during the 1994 Survivor Series. Dubbed Clowns R Us, the group assisted Doink in a memorably comical fight against Jerry Lawler.
