This amazing tee is for the professional wrestler Dusty Rhodes, also known as "The American Dream". Rhodes' professional career began all the way back in the 60s, and he would eventually join the Word Wrestling Federation in 1989. He was first introduced to WWF audiences through house shows and a series of vignettes, in which Rhodes was portrayed as a working class everyman. In these skits, Rhodes would perform blue collar jobs that ranged from plumber to trash collector, and this gave the wrestler his persona of "The American Dream", a hardworking common man just trying to make a living.

For most of Rhodes' early career with the WWF he remained a beloved and undefeated face character. He entered 1990 with just one untelevised loss, and it was around this time that he also began wrestling alongside Sapphire. Sweet Sapphire used to be featured ringside during Rhodes' televised matches, and she eventually became his manager during his time with the WWF. Just as Rhodes was intended to represent "the common man", Sapphire was meant to portray "the common woman".
