This incredible shirt features the iconic Mistress of the Dark, Elvira. This shirt showcases a portrait of the horror hostess, which was licensed to the novelties and collectibles company, Comic Images in 1997. This portrait was shot by the mixed media artist David Goldner, who was no stranger to photographing the horror icon.

Elvira has been dazzling audiences since the 1980s, and the beloved character was the creation of actress Cassandra Peterson. Elvira first appeared as the hostess of  a weekly B-movie horror presentation called Elvira's Movie Macabre. The show aired on the Los Angeles television station KHJ-TV, and it was launched  after the station began looking to add a program that would replace their old weekly horror show, Fright Night, which had ceased production after the death of its host Larry Vincent. Peterson answered the station's casting call for a horror hostess and won the role. From there it wasn't long before audiences fell in love with Elvira's intoxicating and entertaining mix of horror, humor, and sex appeal.
