This cool tee honors the legendary Jerry Garcia, the late great lead guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter of the Grateful Dead. This shirt was made by the music merchandising company Winterland, and it dates back to the 90s, the final decade of Garcia's life. Renowned for his musical improvisational skills, Garcia was viewed by many as the unspoken leader of the Grateful Dead, and an icon of the 1960s counter cultural movement.

Garcia formed the Dead in 1965, with the help of Bob Weir, Ron McKernan, Phil Lesh, and Bill Kreutzmann. Together they pioneered the jam band genre, and garnered one of the most dedicated fanbases in music history. Sadly, Garcia struggled with poor health that was partially a result of his long-standing drug addictions. The musical legend died in 1995, just a year after he and the Grateful Dead were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
