This awesome shirt has a beautiful illustration rallying you to love, respect, and protect black women. Promising "satisfaction guaranteed", this image was drawn by Reginald Harmon, a musician and visual artist whose work often centers on celebrating the black community. This shirt was printed for a black-owned company called Dent Enterprises, which was based out of Atlanta, Georgia.

This shirt is copyright 1991, a year when the rights and safety of black women were at the forefront of many people's minds. This was largely thanks to President H. W. Bush's decision to nominate Clarence Thomas for the Supreme Court, a choice that was contested by lawyer and educator Anita Hill. Hill accused Thomas of sexual harassment from their time working together at the Department of Education and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. This shirt was made during a time when many black women were incensed by the event. In response, 1600 black women banded together to publish a statement titled "African American Women in Defense of Ourselves". The statement was printed in several major newspapers, and it emphasized black women's determination to protest and support one another through the oppression they faced.

Fits like a modern unisex adult large. There is a small thin spot on the front, see pics.
