This sweet double-sided tee celebrates the release of Lyricist Lounge, Volume One, a compilation album which was promoted as  "The soundtrack to a hip-hop movement". The Lyricist Lounge was actually a series of open mic events that were hosted in a small Lower East Side apartment in New York. The events were created by Danny Castro and Anthony Marshall as a way to showcase local rappers, emcees, DJs, and other members of the hip hop scene.

Lyricist Lounge, Volume One was the first of three studio albums to be produced based off the series. The record was made with the help of Rawkus Records, and the back of this tee features a list of the contributing artists. This included 88 Keys, Black Thought, Absolute, Cipher Complete, Common, Hazadus, DJ Scratch, Curt Gowdy, DJ Spinbad, Jurassic 5, Lord Have Mercy, K-Love, Mos Def, Saul Williams, Stix Bones, Sarah Jones, Wise Guy, Word A' Mouth, Survival Soundz, and Shawn J. Period, as well as many others.
