This amazing graphic tee is a keepsake from the 1976 EAA Fly-In Convention hosted at the Oshkosh, Wisconsin airport.  The convention, since renamed AirVenture but often referred to simply as Oshkosh, is hosted annually by the Experimental Aircraft Association. Although the convention is over 60 years old, this tee is from one of the earlier years that the Fly-In was hosted in Oshkosh. The convention is the one of the largest of its kind and it lasts for a full week. During the convention, the Oshkosh airport's control tower is the busiest in the world, as it directs hundreds of aircrafts daily. With its six figure attendance that often reaches over half a million, the EAA Convention is nationally recognized as a major event for aviation enthusiasts.

The first EAA Fly-In was a small part of the Milwaukee Air Pageant but the convention quickly took on a life of its own. By the late 50s, the Fly-In had outgrown its home at the Milwaukee airport and moved to the Rockford, Illinois airport. It's time in Rockford is considered some of the most important years for the convention, as the Fly-In became the family friendly, amateur aircraft-building event that it is today. By 1969, the Fly-In was, once again, too big for its home so it moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Here the convention found its permanent home, in part due to the tireless work of thousands of volunteers who gave their time to build facilities for the Fly-In.
