This amazing vintage tee has some gorgeous graphics inspired by Ancient Egypt. The shirt was likely purchased in honor of the traveling museum exhibition, "Treasures of Tutankhamun". This shirt was made in the 70s, and during that decade the show traveled to six American cities and became a major cultural phenomena. The show included text and artifacts from the Tomb of King Tut, as well as photographs by Harry Burton from the tomb's excavation.
The popularity of the King Tut exhibit caused the public's interest in Egyptology to spike, and this shirt shows off Ancient Egyptian figures that include the god Horus and goddess Hathor. Both these figures are associated with the pharaohs, as Horus was a god of kingship that was also the son and consort of Hathor.
