This amazing raglan tee is for the B-52s, and it was made to promote the band's 1982 EP, Mesopotamia. This shirt features the cover art that was used for the release, which features a portrait of the band drawn as if they were depicted in ancient hieroglyphics.

Mesopotamia was produced by David Byrne of Talking Heads, and the release was notably different from their first two studio albums, which were largely made up of songs that the band had already been performing live for several years. After the band's early success, their label Warner Bros. pushed them to put out new material, and Byrne seemed like the perfect producer, as the band already knew him from touring alongside Talking Heads.

In the end, recording sessions for Mesopotamia were cut short and the record was released as an EP instead of the full length album it was originally supposed to be. Pressure from their label, the stress of their sudden success, and conflicts with Byrne, who was simultaneously hard at work on the soundtrack to The Catherine Wheel, all contributed to this decision. However, the EP did put the band back on the road, and the Meso-America Tour reinvigorated them to get back in the studio for their 1983 album, Whammy!

The tag says large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There is some light red discoloration on the back, see pics.
