This sweet tank top promotes Bud Light beer with a beach themed graphic of their beloved 80s mascot, Spuds MacKenzie, also known as "the original party animal". Spuds was introduced by the Anheuser-Busch company in 1987 via a commercial that aired during Super Bowl XXI. Although the lovable canine mascot was male, Spuds was actually portrayed by a female dog named Honey Tree Evil Eye.
This shirt features Spuds stationed on a lifeguard chair on beach patrol, and it resembles one of the many popular ads that featured the dog. Coincidentally, it was a Spuds Mackenzie commercial that inspired the Sir Mix-a-Lot song "Baby Got Back". The rapper noticed the lack of full-figured models in the Budweiser ad, and was subsequently inspired to write his signature hit.
