This awesome vintage kid's shirt features an iron on graphic for the 1982 science fiction film E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. The movie was directed by Steven Spielberg, who is known for a number of successful films including the Indiana Jones series, Saving Private Ryan, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. It tells the story of a young boy who befriends an alien and must help the creature to return home, and it was actually inspired by an imaginary friend Spielberg created after his parents' divorce.

The movie was a huge box office success, earning the title of the highest-grossing film of all time, a record which it held until the release of another of Spielberg's films, Jurassic Park. The movie also received four Academy Awards, including Best Visual Effects. The animatronics for the film were designed by Carlo Rambaldi who also received an Academy Award for his work on the starkly different sci fi film, Alien.
