This vintage tee features notable black rights advocate and radical activist, Malcolm X. It also features a quote from his speech at the founding rally of the Organization of Afro-American Unity, "by any means necessary." This famous quote perfectly summarized his opinion towards the nonviolent measures used by Martin Luther King Jr. and other mainstream civil rights activists. Malcolm X instead advocated for racial justice through complete racial segregation, and he called for black empowerment by whatever means necessary.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Malcolm X did eventually set aside his black nationalist beliefs to work with other leaders of the civl rights movement. Sadly he was assassinated in the late 60s after leaving the Nation of Islam. Despite some of his more radical views, Malcolm X was a hero among black Americans and his legacy continues to be honored each May on Malcolm X Day.
