This special souvenir from the 80s comes from Andrew Tosh's appearance at the University of California-Santa Cruz in 1989, only two years after the murder of his father, prominent reggae musician and Rastafarian, Peter Tosh. The historical event was organized by the university's Ras's International, and featured Fully Fullwood, Santa Davis, Keith Sterling, Tony Chin, Vince Black, and U-ROY.
Peter Tosh remains an irreplaceable figure in reggae music around the world, remembered both as a solo artist and member of the Wailers with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer.
Andrew Tosh, at the age of 20, took over his father's legacy following his untimely death at the age of 42. Although Andrew began releasing music of his own in '85, his father's passing put him in the spotlight, and he rose to the occasion. In honor of his legacy, Andrew began performing tributes of his father's songs. His concert at UC Santa Cruz was titled, "Reggae Mylitis," named after the song on Peter's 1981 album, Wanted Dread & Alive.
