This awesome tee comes brand new in a sealed package from the collectibles manufacturer, Comic Images, and it shows off an amazing image of one of Marvel Comics' most beloved X-Men characters, Wolverine. The graphic on this shirt looks to be from the John Byrne era of Wolverine during the late 80s. Byrne wound up playing a significant role in the development of the character, but this era of Wolverine was also largely informed by the 1982 collaboration between Chris Claremont and Frank Miller.
Wolverine first appeared in an issue of The Incredible Hulk in the mid 70s, and he gained popularity through his appearances in the X-Men comic series. Finally in 1982, he was granted his first, four-issue solo series, and for some Marvel fans, this was when the character was revealed to be a true star. People became entranced by the hero's gritty, no-nonsense attitude, likening him to DC's brooding icon, Batman. This era of the hero was also heavily influenced by the filmography of Clint Eastwood, particularly the actor's portrayal of the western antihero, the Man with No Name.
