The Andy Griffith Show lasted for 8 seasons from the fall of 1960 until the spring of 1968. The show takes place in the fictional small North Carolina town of Mayberry. Andy is the widowed sheriff of the town, raising his son Opie as a single father. He can sometimes depend on his deputy Barney Fife, who always tries to do a good job, but often falls short. On the right sleeve of the shirt is Aunt Bee played by Frances Bavier, who is Opie's aunt and the housekeeper. The Andy Griffith show was one of only three shows to end their run at the top of the Nielsen ratings, still popular until the final episode. The show also inspired a couple of spin-offs, Mayberry R.F.D and Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.
