This sweet double-sided t-shirt is for the rap rock group the Beastie Boys, and both sides of the shirt feature graphics commemorating the group's fourth studio album, Ill Communication. This was the Beastie Boys' second release off of their vanity record label, Grand Royal, and it was also their second album to reach the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
Ill Communication saw the Beastie Boys continue their gradual transition away from sampling and more towards utilizing live instruments. It included one of their most memorable singles, "Sabotage", which became a hit, partially thanks to its notable music video that was directed by Spike Jonze. The music video was intended to parody 1970s crime drama shows like Hawaii Five-O, S.W.A.T., and Starsky and Hutch, and it quickly became an MTV favorite. The video was even nominated for five different awards at the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards, although it lost every single category. "Sabotage" would eventually take home a win though, in 2009 when the video was awarded in the new category "Best Video (That Should Have Won a Moonman)".
