This awesome double-sided concert tee is from the 1991 Day on the Green concert in Oakland, California. This recurring event was organized by Bill Graham and his company Bill Graham Presents beginning in 1973. The 1991 concert was the last Day on the Green to be presided over by Graham, before his tragic death later that month. The concert was headlined by Metallica and also featured performances by Queensryche, Faith No More, and Soundgarden.

This tee features an amazing graphic from the artist Brian Schroeder, better known as Pushead. Pushead is known for his intense illustrations that have been used by a number of popular hardcore punk and heavy metal bands, and he is responsible for creating a plethora of awesome designs for Metallica over the years.

1991 was the same year that Metallica released their eponymous fifth studio album from Elektra Records. This release marked a change in the band's sound as they strayed away from their thrash metal roots and towards a more refined style. Some of the singles off the album, wound up becoming some of the band's most popular songs. The singles included "Enter Sandman", "The Unforgiven", "Nothing Else Matters", "Wherever I May Roam," and "Sad but True". Metallica ended up being the band's best selling album and it debuted at the top of the charts in ten countries. It brought the group mainstream attention and lead to them playing at the 1991 Monsters of Rock series, which included a performance at the first ever open-air rock concert to be held in the former Soviet Union.
