This cool promotional tee was made in the 90s for the sixth feature length Star Trek film, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. This 1991 movie was directed by Nicholas Meyer, the same director responsible for one of the most popular Star Trek films, The Wrath of Khan. While the initial plan for this sixth movie was to bring in a new cast of actors to portray younger versions of the Enterprise crew, this idea for a prequel was scrapped due to fan backlash. Instead, the cast of Star Trek: The Original Series was invited to reprise their roles once again.
Leonard Nimoy, who portrayed Doctor Spock, didn't just reprise his role as Captain Kirk's second in command, he also contributed to the story for the film. The plot centered around the Enterprise crew attempting to prevent a group of conspirators from foiling a peace treaty between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets. The movie wound up becoming a critical and commercial success and even earned two Oscar nominations.
