This sweet double-sided band tee is for the Boston-based ska group The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The band emerged in the early 80s and are often credited with helping to develop the genre of ska punk and its sub-genre of ska-core. This shirt was made in the 90s, when the band started touring extensively and gaining significant attention. They are often remembered for their 1997 album, Let's Face It, which featured their hit single "The Impression That I Get". Two years prior, they were also featured in the teen comedy Clueless, as the house band during the frat party.
This shirt is copyright 1996, just before their commercial peak. That year the band performed at Warped Tour, after a successful stint playing the main stage of the 1995 Lollapalooza festival. The band also developed their own annual music festival in their hometown of Boston in 1994. Dubbed the Hometown Throwdown, the festival showcased Boston area bands from the ska, punk, and hardcore scene.
The tag says extra large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult large. There is light discoloration on the front, see pics.
