This sweet vintage shirt promotes the video game WCW vs. nWo: World Tour. This console game was released for the Nintendo 64, and it was made right around the time that World Championship Wrestling began to pull ahead in the Monday Night War. During the 90s, WCW was fighting fiercely for viewership against the WWF, as the two were competing directly with one another for Nielsen ratings, with their Monday night programs, Monday Night Raw and Monday Nitro. Eventually WCW was able to get a leg up on the competition, thanks to the introduction of the wrestling stable the New World Order.
This video game shined a spotlight on the new and popular stable, and players were able to select their character from more than 40 wrestlers. Playable characters included a number of WCW superstars such as Kevin Nash, Ric Flair, Sting, Lex Luger, Randy Savage, Scott Hall, and Rey Misterio, as well as The Giant and Hulk Hogan, who were featured on the game's box art that's pictured on this tee. WCW vs. nWO wound up becoming the second best selling wrestling game for the N64, just after its sequel WCW/nWo Revenge.
Fits like a modern unisex adult oversized extra large. This shirt is deadstock, unworn and new with tags.
