This awesome vintage shirt is for the Philadelphia-based punk band the Dead Milkmen from their 1990 album Metaphysical Graffiti. Both the cover art and the title of the album were a parody of the 1975 Led Zeppelin album Physical Graffiti. The album made it to the No. 164 spot on the Billboard 200, and two of the tracks, "Do the Brown Nose" and "If You Love Somebody, Set Them on Fire", appeared on the band's greatest hits album Death Rides a Pale Cow. Enigma Records printed and mailed coloring books to help promote the track "Methodist Coloring Book", and a music video was made for the song. However, MTV refused to air the video until it was reedited, as they feared some of the imagery used might have been offensive.

The Dead Milkmen first emerged in the hardcore scene of the early 80s, and they managed to gain attention with their sardonic humor. Their debut LP titled Big Lizard in My Backyard was released 1985 by a subsidiary of Enigma Records called Restless Records. The track "Bitchin' Camaro" became especially popular, receiving significant airplay on college radio. The LP was followed by Eat Your Paisley which included their first proper single and music video "The Thing That Only Eats Hippies". In 1988 the band released Beezlebubba, which featured their most famous hit "Punk Rock Girl". Lyrics to the song included several references to the group's hometown of Philadelphia, including a nod to the famous punk shop Zipperhead, which used to reside on South Street.
