This awesome vintage shirt features a flocked graphic that reads, "Never underestimate the power of a woman", and also features the Venus symbol. This shirt was made in the 70s, during the second-wave of feminism, when the Venus symbol was prominently used in the fight for women's right. The slogan on this tee was supposedly born from a marketing campaign designed to promote the sales of Ladies' Home Journal in the 1940s.

It's somewhat ironic to see the slogan used on a t-shirt like this, considering the magazine published several articles opposing women's suffrage during the first wave of feminism. Feminists in the 1970s did fight to change the magazine's portrayal of women however. Led by Susan Brownmiller, they staged a sit-in at the publication's office until their grievances were heard, and they were granted the opportunity to produce their own segment addressing sexual discrimination and other issues.

The tag says large but this shirt fits like a modern women's adult small.
