This amazing vintage tank top is for the Village people and the front features the title of their hit song and second studio album, Macho Man. The Village People were a popular disco act that catered specifically to a gay audience with their catchy songs and themed costumes. Members famously appeared dressed as a cop, Native American, soldier, construction worker, biker , and cowboy. The name Village People was a reference to Greenwich Village in New York which was known for its large LGBT population. The group is remembered for their hit songs "In the Navy", "Go West" and the wildly popular "Y.M.C.A."

The Village People was founded by French producers Jacques Morali and Henri Belolo who were trying to break into the American market. They hired Victor Willis to sing lead vocals on a dance album they produced titled Village People. As the album gained popularity, demands for live appearances were made and Morali quickly pieced together a group centered around Willis. Inspiration for the group was derived from the dress code at the BDSM leather bar, the Mineshaft. An ad seeking candidates for a permanent group was put out and it read, " Macho Types Wanted: Must dance and have a mustache".  The official lineup consisting of Victor Willis, Felipe Rose, Alex Briley, Glenn Hughes, David Hodo, and Randy Jones made their first appearance in a photo shoot for the already-recorded album, Macho Man

This shirt fits like a modern unisex adult Extra Small. The material is a rib knit so there is some stretch to it. There is fading on the graphic, see pics.
