This bright yellow tee is from the 1982 San Francisco Carnaval and it honors the memorable performance that the Escola de Samba Batucaje made at the festival. The San Francisco Carnaval is a beloved local celebration that started in 1979. In 1980, Jose Lorenzo brought together the dance troupe and percussion ensemble that would come to be known as Escola de Samba Batucaje. They performed a style of samba dance known as batucada, and earned grand champion honors at the Carnaval Parade.

Escola de Samba Batucaje would continue to perform at the festival over the years, bringing lots of positive attention to event. They even caught the attention of legendary jam band The Grateful Dead, who invited the group to perform with them at a Mardi Gras concert in Oakland in 1988.

Fits like a modern unisex adult small. There are some small spots on the side, see pics.
