This awesome vintage shirt features your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and it features a graphic from the early career of comic book icon, Todd McFarlane. This shirt is copyright 1988, the same year that McFarlane first joined the team for Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man. While he had done some other art for both Marvel and DC in the late 80s, Spider-Man was what essentially launched McFarlane's career.

Fans were delighted by the detailed renderings and dynamic poses that McFarlane brought to his artwork, and the commercial success of The Amazing Spider-Man allowed him to gain other opportunities in the industry. He would eventually go on to co-found Image Comics, through which he published his seminal series, Spawn.

Since the character's debut in 1962, Spider-Man has become one of the most recognizable superheros in the world. In the late 80s, he was given his own balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and in terms of retail sales, Spider-Man has earned more in merchandise sales than Batman, Superman, and the Avengers combined.

Fits like a modern unisex adult small.
