This sweet basketball jersey is a piece of vintage athletic wear from Russell Southern. The Russell Manufacturing Company first began making sportswear in the 30s, after they acquired Southern Manufacturing. This jersey was made all the way back in the 50s, and by the following decade Russell Southern had grown into the nation's largest athletic apparel manufacturer.
This basketball jersey reps the number 44, and it was made for a student of Upper Darby High School in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. First established in 1895, UDHS is the oldest high school in the Delco area, and it is also the home of the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and the Summer Stage theater program. The school has also produced quite a few notable alumni, including former SNL writer and cast member, Tina Fey. In fact, Fey's time at the school helped to inspire the hit comedy film Mean Girls.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. There are some runs, see pics.
