This blue satin jacket was made all the way back in the 60s and has a pretty interesting story behind the back graphic. Adorned on the back of the jacket in red lettering are the words "Jamaica JJ" this is a reference to an old pawn broker and series of loan offices once owned by JJ Friel. Friel was an Irish immigrant who began his life in America working as a ditch digger. Friel had high hopes however, as he began working for a brokerage company and eventually opened a pawnbroker business which he ran until the 1890s. He later opened a number of loan offices which were carried on by his children into the 1970s. Friel's businesses were immortalized by their painted advertisements around New York City. The signs could be found from Park Slope, Brooklyn all the way to Jamaica Queens. There was even one that used to overlook Coney Island Avenue in the Kensignton section of Brooklyn.
In addition to the back graphic, this jacket also has a smaller front graphic and the name Dennis embroidered onto the chest. It has two hand pockets and front snap closures.
