This double-sided concert t-shirt is for the 10th Annual Budweiser Superfest which took place in 1989. The first Superfest took place in 1979 and the music festival ran annually until 1999. The back of this shirt lists off some of the featured acts including New Edition, Bobby Brown, Patti LaBelle, Stephanie Mills, Guy, Levert, Midnight Star, Kool Moe Dee, The O Jays, Karyn White, and Rob Base. There were also appearances by MC Hammer, Tony Toni Tone, The Whispers, and DJ E-Z Rock. The big-name festival was lauded for providing jobs and generating money for black communities. The festival also showcased black artists and helped to increase their record sales exponentially.
Superfest was eventually revived back in 2010 and the revamped version of the festival introduced an aspect called "Battle for the Crown". The battle was a competition for local artists to compete for the change to perform as the opening act at their local concert. The competition kept in line with the festival's tradition of providing opportunities within black communities.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There is a repair on the front, see pics.
