This vintage tee celebrates the night that the Chicago Cubs attempted to make sports history in 1988. On the evening of August 8th, 1988 or 8/8/88, the Cubs were scheduled to host their first ever night game at Wrigley Field against the Philadelphia Phillies. The game would utilize the stadium's newly installed lights, and usher the Cubs into a new era. However, at the bottom of the fourth inning, severe thunderstorms overtook the field and the game had to be suspended. Since MLB rules state that at least five innings need to be completed for it to count as an official game, the first night game at Wrigley Field technically didn't occur until the following evening.
