This amazing cutoff punk shirt is from the last show at the On Broadway Theater in San Francisco on June 16th 1984. On Broadway was a theater in the complex with another infamous theater, the Mabuhay Gardens (aka the Mab).
Located at 435 Broadway in the North Beach, the Mab and On Broadway became the premiere punk rock club of 1980s San Francisco with Dirk Dirksen emceeing and handling the booking. Some of the punk bands who played in this time period were: Avengers, Dead Kennedys, The Nuns, The Dead Boys, Devo, X, The Police, SVT, Patti Smith, and more!
The show featured on this shirt, the closing of On Broadway, featured Dead Kennedys, Black Athletes, Freeze, Naked Lady Wrestlers (spelled Werslters), Condemned to Death, and Witnesses. The show was filmed, and later released as a concert video called DMPO's on Broadway.
This is truly a piece of Punk Rock, and San Francisco History!
This shirt fits like a modern unisex adult small.
The sleeves and neck are cut, the bottom hem is uneven, and there are bleach spots on the front. See pics.
