This awesome original Dead Kennedys shirt is from their final album, Bedtime for Democracy. The album came out in 1986, at the height of the Reagan Presidency, about one year before the Iran Contra hearings changed the course of history. The graphic on this shirt is the album cover, and it features an awesome alternative universe statue of liberty as well as the band's iconic logo.

The Dead Kennedys were formed in San Francisco, California back in 1978. They are remembered for their hardcore political lyrics satirizing political figures and authority in general. Their controversial and provocative lyrics motivated some stores to refrain from stocking their recordings, which lead to debates around censorship in rock music, and prompted lead singer, Jello Biafra to become a vocal campaigner against the Parents Music Resource Center. During the release of their final album, the band was amidst a lengthy obscenity battle over a piece of H.R. Giger artwork which was included with their previous album Frankenchrist.

Bedtime for Democracy was a critique of conformity, Reaganomics, the US Military, and the hardcore punk movement. It opened with a cover of David Alen Coe's "Take This Job and Shove It".

The tag says medium but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult small. There is light discoloration and a run in the armpit, see pics.
