This awesome shirt celebrates the beloved British musician Sir Elton John, and features his official piano logo. John's career stretches over an impressive six decades, and includes such famous hits as "I'm Still Standing", "Rocket Man", "Tiny Dancer", "Bennie and the Jets", and "Crocodile Rock". He learned to play piano at a very young age, and started his first band when he was only 15 years old, called Bluesology. John spent several years as a session musician for other artists before he recorded his debut single "Your Song" in 1969, and from there he became a critical and commercial success.
This shirt is from the 1980s, during which the musician released an impressive collection of albums that included The Fox, Jump Up!, Too Low for Zero, Breaking Hearts, and Ice on Fire. Some notable performances of his during the decade, included an appearance at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium and five consecutive sold out shows at Madison Square Garden.
Elton John is also a well-respected musical composer, responsible for the soundtracks to award-winning musicals like The Lion King and Billy Elliot. He's also an outspoken advocate in the fight against HIV/AIDS and established his own charity the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992.
