This cool vintage shirt pays tribute to the offbeat superhero the Flaming Carrot. First appearing in the comic book publication Visions #1 in 1979, the character was created by Bob Burden, and according to his fictional backstory The Flaming Carrot was born after a man read 5,000 comics in a single sitting to win a bet. The Flaming Carrot was also a founding member of a blue collar group of superheros known as the Mystery Men, and Burden described the conglomeration as irreverent rabble-rousers and second-string goofballs. Equipped with a giant carrot mask, nuclear-powered pogo stick, and his trusty 9mm pistol, the Flaming Carrot garnered a strong cult following with his bizarre antics.
