This sweatshirt was made by JCPenney and because the tag doesn't refer to the company by the name "Penney's" it's safe to assume that this shirt was made after the company officially switched over to their new logo in 1971.  

While this shirt has a timeless design that doesn't feature any graphics, the bold colors are quintessential 80s. People often associate the decade with bright neons, but rich jewel tones were equally popular at the time. 80s fashion was influenced greatly by the Art Deco Revival, and this sweatshirt demonstrates the kind of striking colors and shapes that made up the trendy aesthetics of the era.
