This shirt was made by Nike for a 30K race and 30 mile relay that took place in 1985. The Nike swoosh logo is featured on the sleeve, indicating that the multinational footwear company served as a sponsor for the race. However the event's title sponsor was an entirely different sportswear retailer, called The Athlete's Foot. The Athlete's Foot was founded in 1971, the same exact year that Blue Ribbon Sports rebranded itself as Nike. Although Nike eventually surpassed TAF in terms of popularity, the company didn't really take off until the late 80s, which is when their "Just Do It" slogan was introduced.
This running event, dubbed the 30/30 was held in Hawaii and organized by the Mid-Pacific Roadrunners Club. Based out of Honolulu, the MPRRC is the largest running club in the state, with a history that dates all the way back to 1962.
Fits like a modern unisex adult over-sized small. There is a spot on the front, see pics.
