This awesome jersey style tee celebrates the Philadelphia Phillies' first ever World Series victory. The Phillies were named MLB Champions in 1980 after they defeated the Kansas City Royals in the World Series. It was the first time since 1920, that neither of the competing teams had a previous World Series title under their belt, and Americans were on the edge of their seats waiting to see who would emerge victorious.
It was on October 21st during Game 6, that the Phillies eventually won, and with nearly 55 million viewers it was the most-watched game in World Series history. MVP of the series was awarded to third baseman Mike Schmidt, who scored double home runs during Game 5.
The tag says extra large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult large. There is some light discoloration around the collar and a small hole on the back, see pics.
