This sweet kid's ringer is made from a soft rayon tri blended material, and it features a portrait of Professor Longhair. Referred to here as the "Father of Rock and Roll", Professor Longhair was a celebrated New Orleans musician best known for his blues stylings. Born as Henry Roeland Byrd, Longhair only ever had one mainstream commercial hit, a song called "Bald Head" from 1950 that was credited to Roy Byrd and His Blues Jumpers. However, despite his lack of mainstream success, Longhair was a highly influential figure in the New Orleans blues scene, and he was an inspiration to other notable artists like Allen Toussaint and Fats Domino.
After being inactive throughout the 60s, Professor Longhair began touring jazz festivals across the country, and he released several albums during the 70s. Sadly, Longhair died of a heart attack in 1980, but his music continued to garner acclaim. He was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame the year after his death, and eventually the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
Tag says extra large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex youth large.
