This vintage tee is an amazing one-of-a-kind piece from Hip Hop's Golden Era, made only for the security guards at a Run DMC and Public Enemy show at KB Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 17th 1988. The shirt comes from the private collection of a former Run DMC bodyguard circa the 1980s and is deadstock- completely unworn with the original Adidas tags.

1988 was a spectacular year in music for Danes. KB Hallen brought the best international acts of hip-hop, rap, and heavy metal, as well as popular Danish bands. Among these famous acts were Motley Crue, Kiss, Aerosmith, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest, Scorpions, Dio, and of course Run DMC and Public Enemy. 

Run-DMC are considered one of the most renown hip-hop groups of the eighties, having influenced much of the culture and history of the music. The group was founded by Joseph Simmons, Jazon Mizell, and Darryl McDaniel in Queens, NY circa 1983. Some of their best known hits include "It's Tricky", "It's Like That", and their famous Aerosmith cover "Walk This Way".

Public Enemy first hit the hip-hop scene in 1985, thanks to founding members Flavor Flav and Chuck D of Long Island, New York. They're famous for their political messaging in tracks like "Fight the Power", "Don't Believe the Hype", and "Rebel Without a Pause".

Run-DMC and Public Enemy both have everlasting legacies thanks to their contributions to rap and hip-hop music and culture. Today they continue to be celebrated through memorabilia and collectibles such as posters, keepsakes, and vintage t-shirts like this one.
