This awesome vintage shirt is for a benefit concert held at the Stone Pony to help Ethiopia. The shirt's graphic depicts a list of some of the performing bands which included Bums in the Park, Cats on a Smooth Surface, Oliver's Twist, Cruisers, J.T. Bowen and the Shore Patrol, and La Bamba and the Hubcaps.

The Stone Pony, located in Asbury Park, New Jersey, is one of the most iconic music venues in the country and it first opened in 1974. It was founded by John P. "Jack" Roig and Robert "Butch" Pielka, who first met while working at a club together in Seaside Heights. Over the years the Pony hosted a number of legendary performers such as Elvis Costello, The Ramones, Cheap Trick, Skid Row, Blondie, The Stray Cats, Meatloaf, Joan Jett, and Blue Oyster Cult. They were also a favored venue of local hero Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band.

This benefit concert includes some classic Stone Pony regulars. Cats on a Smooth Surface even served as the club's house band from 1978 into the 80s. Bruce Springsteen would often perform with them, when he showed up unannounced to the Stone Pony throughout the spring of 1982. The Band's lead guitarist Bobby Bandiera, also went on to play for another New Jersey rock and roll legend, Bon Jovi.
