This cool vintage tee showcases the OG superhero, Superman, and it promotes a fictional clothing brand named for his home planet of Krypton. Superman was first introduced in 1938, and his creation kicked off the Golden Age of Comics. The character became the blueprint for subsequent comic book superheros, and he directly inspired a number of other popular heroes, including Batman, Captain Marvel, and Captain America.

This shirt was made in the 80s, the same decade that the character celebrated his 50th anniversary. For the occasion, a new Superman animated series was developed by Ruby Spears Productions, a company founded by the creators of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!. This Saturday morning cartoon was based on the 1978 Superman film and the revamped version of the character that was introduced after Crisis on Infinite Earths.
